The Good News Project

This is something I've been thinking about doing for a while. "Jesus saith to Simon Peter ... lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs" (Jon 21:15). I believe God expects all who believe in Him and love Him to feed His sheep--essentially to share the Gospel.

"Gospel" means "good news" and we can all share it in different ways. We can share it by serving missions, or preaching to others. We can share it through beautiful art, or music, or dance. We can share it through service. God gave each of us special talents, and I believe the main purpose of those talents is to "feed [his] sheep."

I've always had trouble sharing the Gospel with others. I'm not someone who readily opens her mouth and declares that Jesus Christ lives, that He loves us, and that through His Atonement we can be saved. I don't know why. It is the greatest part of my life, and I am grateful for it. I have not been blessed with boldness, or confidence as others have. But I have been blessed with the ability to write well. And I have been blessed with talents in music. I've decided that if I cannot share the Gospel in the conventional way, I can at least share it through song, through poetry, though words.

I do not claim to be a great poet. But I believe God can use my small talents and make them great. I believe that He will bless me as I seek to praise Him through words. I hope others will find inspiration in my words, and the courage to use their own talents to spread His good news.

So, this is The Good News Project. I will regularly post original, spiritual poetry/lyrics and essays about Christ and His Gospel. My goal is to post every Sunday. In the beginning, the works will be from my high school and college years, as it has been several years since I've felt inspired to write spiritual poetry. My hope is that as I seek to share the Gospel, God will strengthen my own testimony and inspire me once again.

Everything published on here is my own original work, unless otherwise stated, and I own all rights to it. Do not repost, or publish without permission. I grant permission for posts to be shared via social media, and for poetry to be quoted in Sunday School, etc. so long as credit is given.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
